There are times in human history, where calamity strikes somewhere in the world, and seismic shifts occur to the communities of peoples located in lands so assaulted by those calamities.  Sometimes it’s war, sometimes crop failures, sometimes drought, sometimes disease, fire, or political strife; but almost always, it impacts people.  Invariably, those people least able to deal with the onslaught of the calamity, are subjected to the ensuring poverty, violence, illness, starvation, lack of shelter and water, absence of social or political order.  And they suffer, especially their children.  In our world today, we have Refugees.  After every calamity, the world has had Refugees.  And they are a test, to the heart of humankind the world over.  Let us better understand this issue, and learn what we can do to help them.  Many a child’s life hangs in the balance, each moment that ticks by.  And most times, they are powerless to help themselves.  For those of us who can act in some way, please let us do so.  For there go I but by the grace of God.
