WAR
Human Life Challenge: WAR
Over the history of Humanity, how many human beings have been killed directly from wars and conflicts, as well as, the subsequent starvation, disease, and political upheavals ? It is conservatively estimated, that about One Billion People have been killed as a result of War and Conflict, across the millennias. And a greater number of wildlife and great swaths of fertile land, water, and sea have perished as well. It’s clearly a number and scope which staggers the mind ! So much misery, horror, carnage, and irreparable loss. So much inhumanity; no wonder God gives pause to his creation. War unfortunately, is a human construct that invariably pulled humankind into. It is something active & dark. It is something which we have had to endure; do endure; and will in the future endure. It is something we must Survive, and Recover each time from. The dark cycle of War & Peace, will repeat, until we successfully vanquish the evil at its source. And with War, there will be death and great suffering. It’s occurring right now in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Burma, Ukraine, Venezuela, Korea, Iran, Palestine, Yemen, Sudan, Congo, Somalia, Libya, Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, Indonesia, Turkey, and many other places. The world simmers with conflict and death. Those of us who do not suffer from war are lucky; yet we have a grave obligation. We are obliged to do whatever we can, through national legislation, national leadership; to project power and purpose to those parts of the world to induce peace; just governments, democracy, open markets, human rights, and the dignity of humankind. All of which, is the basis for a structured, enduring, and just peace.
